Chris Anieze, the founder was inspired by his childhood hours spent watching his father tailor outfits, his formative years, growing up in Aba, a city in the South-eastern Nigeria, known for its commerce, and skilful artisans, especially in the fabrics trade and tailoring. Chris’s mom was one these fabric traders, selling imported left over and deadstock fabrics, from Europe and Asia.
Our Values
At Afrodistricts, perfection is rather a progressive journey, making small but calculated and effective strides to meet sustainable, social, and environmental needs. Giving new vibes to ancient African and traditional fabrics.
We craft with care, limited series from available textile industry leftovers, promoting, reviving and modernising local artisans’ crafts and skills in painting, embroidery, tailoring and shoemaking.
Our Process
Our fabrics and footwear materials are carefully sourced from deadstock or leftover fabrics that we source in South-eastern Nigeria, or from hand-made fabrics by Artisans in Nigeria and Ghana.
All our items are designed in Paris and produced by a skilful team of artisanal tailors in Nigeria and France.
